Candidates must have an M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Physical Science or a related subject with a minimum of 55% marks. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories are given a relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks.

Exam Pattern:

The CSIR NET Physical Science exam is conducted in two parts – Part A and Part B. Part A is common for all subjects and consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on General Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Graphical Analysis, and Statistics. Part B consists of MCQs based on the subject-specific syllabus.

The exam is conducted online and consists of a total of 200 questions. Part A consists of 20 questions, and Part B consists of 180 questions. Each question carries 2 marks, and there is negative marking for wrong answers.
